Yufu Takai, from Japan, joined Winter Camp for a week with her five-year-old daughter after hearing about the school from a friend. The family was travelling and exploring places for education.
Her daughter felt nervous on the first day. Yufu recalls the kindness of a teacher who spoke a little Japanese and the warm welcome from the staff. Her testimony focuses on the reassurance that personal connection brought to a new experience.

She was nervous and cried. However, there was a teacher who could speak a little Japanese. The teacher was very kind and stayed by my side.
I'm very grateful for that. This is my first time participating in the Winter Camp. The teachers welcomed me warmly.
