At Empathy School, we deeply value our teachers and their professional development. We believe that investing in our educators is crucial for providing the highest quality education to our students. To this end, we have implemented several key initiatives to support our teachers’ growth and aspirations.
Extensive In-House Training
Each year, we conduct over 400 hours of in-house training for our team. These training sessions are designed to:
- Hone teaching skills
- Enhance pedagogical knowledge
- Stay updated with the latest educational practices
- Learn how to fully use Social Emotional Learning
Professional Development Opportunities
In addition to our in-house training, we regularly send our teachers to various professional development programs. These opportunities include:
- Local programs around Bali and Indonesia
- In 2023 we went 6 team members to a 9 day Training in Non-Violent Communication.
- Online courses and workshops
These programs ensure that our teachers continually improve their skills and stay at the forefront of educational innovation.
Skillshare: Bali’s Largest Free Teacher Training Program
Empathy School runs Skillshare, the largest free teacher training program in Bali. This program is a testament to our commitment to the broader educational community. Each session of Skillshare brings together upwards of 150 teachers from public and private schools across Bali. These sessions offer:
- Collaborative learning experiences
- Skill enhancement workshops
- Networking opportunities with peers
Through these initiatives, we strive to foster a supportive and growth-oriented environment for our teachers, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to excel both personally and professionally.
University Consulting and Support
For teachers who remain with us for longer periods, we offer direct support with university consulting. We pledge to leverage our experience and resources to help our team members gain admission to top universities. This includes routine meetings focused on:
- How to apply to prestigious overseas universities
- Preparing necessary documentation
- Crafting compelling essays and applications
We are proud to celebrate that in 2024, one of our team members was accepted into Harvard, and another into Stanford.
