At Empathy School, we take recycling seriously and strive to involve our entire community in sustainable practices. Here’s how you can participate in our recycling initiatives:
Recyclable Items Drop-off
Parents are encouraged to bring any recyclable items to the school. We have a designated storage area in the parking lot where you can place these items. Once the storage is full, we will arrange for it to be taken off for proper recycling. However, it is quite common for local residents to come and collect these recyclables themselves, as they can earn some money from recycling them.
Composting
We also have a robust composting system at Empathy School. Families can bring their compostable materials to contribute to our compost system. This helps reduce waste and provides valuable compost that supports our school garden and other green projects.
Used Cooking Oil Collection
In an effort to reduce waste and promote creative recycling, we invite families to bring their used cooking oil to school. Our students use this oil to make soaps, turning what would be waste into useful and eco-friendly products. This activity not only supports sustainability but also provides a hands-on learning experience for our students.
By participating in these recycling efforts, you are helping Empathy School foster a greener, more sustainable environment for our students and the broader community. Thank you for your support and involvement!
